MOTSD 2021-22 Safe Return to School Plan

The 2021-22 Safe Return to School Plan, has been developed pursuant to 18 months of operating a comprehensive high-performing public school district during the global COVID-19 pandemic. In May 2020, the MOTSD Reentry Committee developed a four option reentry plan for the 2020-21 School Year. in full compliance with the New Jersey Department of Education’s Road Back guidance. Subsequently, in 2020-21 MOTSD executed the 2020-2021 Restart and Recovery Plan.

Our goal has always been to return to the traditional school day (Option #1). MOTSD will provide full-day, full-time, in-person instruction and operations for the 2021-2022 school year.

In June 2021, the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) and the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) worked collaboratively to develop guidance, The Road Forward – Health and Safety Guidance for the 2021-2022 School Year (The Road Forward). The protocols contained is the document are effective August 23, 2021 in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order No. 251, as well as, the August 20, 2021 revisions to the NJDOE’s The Road Forward. The protocols contained herein are subject to change if and when the aforementioned authorities revise their guidance.
