Class overview

Welcome to Art! In Ms. Mag's classroom, we celebrate creativity as a gift from God. This is a creative ,encouraging, and safe space where every student is valued and supported as they grow both artistically and personally. Student artists are encouraged to express themselves authentically while practicing kindness, patience, and respect for others. 

In our art classroom, we believe there are no mistakes—only opportunities. Sometimes art projects do not go as planned, and that is okay. Mistakes are expected and respected! Student artists learn to pause, reflect, and creatively work through these challenges. They will learn to turn “mistakes” into something new and meaningful. This process strengthens problem-solving skills, encourages flexible thinking, and helps students grow as artists. With patience and perseverance, students will come to see that unexpected outcomes can often lead to the most beautiful and unique creations.

Throughout the year, MSS students in Kindergarten through 8th grade will explore a variety of artistic techniques, materials, and styles. Students will learn about the elements of art, as well as principles like balance and contrast. In addition, they will be introduced to master artists and draw inspiration from their work and styles. Through these fun experiences, students will create meaningful works of art inspired by nature, faith, and the world around them.
