The following are Mote's preferred brand fonts.
Mote has purchased licenses to use these fonts and can only share the specific font files on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to inquire about the possibility of getting access to these font files, please contact Mote's Manager of Visual Engagement, Alexis Crabtree.
All of these fonts are available via Adobe Fonts, which is included free with all paid Adobe Creative Cloud plans. If you do not have an Adobe Creative Cloud plan, you can purchase individual fonts from other sources like MyFonts.com and Fonts.com. We have provided both Adobe Fonts and MyFonts.com links for each font below.

In cases where Tablet Gothic SemiCondensed is not available, we recommend using the following fonts:
Helvetica (first choice)
Helvetica Neue (second choice)
Tahoma (last resort)
If trying to replicate Tablet Gothic SemiCondensed Bold or Semibold specifically, try Oswald.
Best for longer-form text and more sophisticated situations
In cases where More Pro is not available, we recommend using the following fonts:
Georgia (first choice)
Times New Roman (last resort)
Recommended for headlines and other decorative text; preferred stylized treatment for the mote.org website
Futura is a widely available font. However, in cases where Futura Extra Bold is not available, we recommend using the following fonts:
Arial Black (first choice)
Impact (last resort)
Another decorative option, also good for supplemental text like labels, infographics, etc.
In cases where Futura Condensed Bold or Extra Bold is not available, we recommend using the following fonts:
Oswald (first choice)
Impact (last resort)
Alternative option for body text (print or digital)
In cases where Tablet Gothic is not available, we recommend using the following fonts:
Helvetica (first choice)
Helvetica Neue (second choice)
Tahoma (last resort)
While we do not maintain strict hierarchy requirements for these fonts, here are some recommendations based on our typical typography choices:
In this example, we used our serif font More Pro for the sub head and main content to give this design a more formal feel. We prefer to use More Pro for topics related to our science or philanthropic support.
In this example, we used our sans serif font Tablet Gothic SemiCondensed Bold and Tablet Gothic Regular to make this design feel more approachable and friendly. Tablet Gothic is our preferred font for communicating with our members and the general public about our Aquarium, events and education programs.
In this simple headline and text example, we demonstrate how More Pro and Tablet Gothic can pair nicely for almost any kind of purpose.
Here are a few examples of how we've applied our brand fonts to various projects:
(esp. Bold or Extra Bold)
(esp. Light, Medium, Book, Heavy)
(esp. Bold or Extra Bold)
(Extra Bold, all caps preferred)
