We acknowledge that the ages of our textbooks vary greatly. Books that had damage at the end of last school year have been repaired. Many were sent to the bindery for completely new bindings. When books are returned they are to be in comparable condition to when they were checked out. Any books with extensive damage will be assessed fees.
It is highly recommended that students use some type of book cover (being careful to avoid the barcode) in order to protect books while in their possession. When books are returned, any excessive damage changing the condition of the book will be the responsibility of the student. If the book must be rebound, there will be a $15.00 charge. If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair (this includes a book returned with any mold) the charge will be $75.00 for a used book or $100 if the book was new when checked out to the student. Adjustments are considered based on the level of damage on the book.
During the school year, if a student feels that a book needs some repair, please contact a library staff member immediately. Library staff is available throughout the year. Please bring issues to the attention of the staff member as soon as they are noticed. DO NOT attempt to repair the book yourself with tape or glue, as this may cause further damage, making it ineligible for the bindery.
Please have your student ID or a picture of your student ID (on your phone) with you at all times in the LRC to allow the check out of any library item.
