Hello 2nd Grade Families! Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year.
I am so excited to be your child's second grade teacher; it is going to be a wonderful year full of fun and learning. I am honored to be part of the journey!
A little about me: I grew up on a hobby farm near Morris and am proud to have attended school in this community. I received my undergraduate degree at MSU-Moorhead in 2003 and my Master’s degree in 2014 through SMSU. My husband Neil and I have three children who keep us busy and smiling. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family (my mom, siblings and their families, and in laws live here as well!), watching my kids in their activities, being outside, going to the lake, drinking coffee, reading, baking, and learning more Spanish.
Teaching is my true passion and I am eager to help your child reach his/her highest potential. It is important to me that my students look forward to coming to school each day and that your child’s time here is well spent. I strive to provide engaging, hands-on and meaningful opportunities. I have high, yet attainable expectations for my students. Along with the academic curriculum, I feel that fostering the social/emotional well being of each child is equally important. Having a strong sense of self worth and respect for others is essential to your child’s happiness in life!
Please reach out to me with any concerns, questions and suggestions this year. You are your child’s first and most important teacher; our communication is necessary for your child’s success and we are certainly better together!
