To celebrate the Arts being incorporated into the STEM to STEAM program, we wanted to do something special. The students chose to do t shirts they could wear and do a version of POP Art. We also wanted to incorporate the tiger logo in some way, or have the logo somewhere on the shirt. POP Art is an art movement that uses everyday things and elevates them to art that would be in galleries. Primary and secondary colors, neon and complementary colors are typically used. Andy Warhol an American POP artist said anything that is embedded into our popular culture can be art. He was famous for his portraits of famous people, a banana, flowers, and Campbell's soup cans and much more. The shirts were made by using chalk to draw their image and then painting the shirts with acrylic paint. Some of the logos were made by Christine Zierke and heat applied to the shirts wherever the students wanted it to be.Â
