Routines and Policies
Attendance: Be on time to class. When the bell rings, you need to be in your seat so we can get started. If you are not in your assigned seat when the bell rings or you forgot items in your locker, I will give you a tardy.
Homework/Assignments: Turn in assignments in the appropriate class tray. Be sure that your name is on all assignments and that you place your assignment in the correct tray. Any assignments turned in without a name will be placed in the “No Name” tray and will not be graded until claimed. Some assignments will be turned in on Google Classroom. Make sure those assignments are turned in under the appropriate class and assignment header.
E-Learning: If we have an E-Learning day, I will post your assignment on Google Classroom before 10 A.M. I expect this to be completed before you return to school. If you have internet problems, we can discuss that when we all return to school. If you have questions about the assignment, email me as soon as possible!
Late Work and Make-Up Work: Work that is not turned in on time will have an automatic grade reduction of 10% each day until turned in. If you miss a day of school, please check Google Classroom or the whiteboard schedule in class to see what you missed. Any worksheets that were assigned will be in the tray labeled “Missing Work” in the back of the classroom. If you have any questions about what you missed, please ask a classmate or Mrs. Holland. If you missed a test/quiz, please come and see Mrs. Holland. Hand in anything that was due while you were gone immediately when you return.
**Due to the increase in the number and frequency of student absences, it will be expected that students use Google Classroom to access work missed. Prior access to class work should not be expected. Please follow school policy concerning time allowed to make up missed work.
Cheating/Plagiarism: The guidelines in the student handbook will be followed for cases of cheating and plagiarism. (Page 19 in Student Handbook) The handbook is available on the school website.
Chromebook Usage: Do not use your Chromebook in class unless you have been instructed to do so. Please be sure your Chromebook is fully charged when you bring it to class. Games/videos/etc. that are not included in instruction are not acceptable Chromebook use. If caught using your Chromebook for non-educational reasons, it will sit on Mrs. Holland’s desk for the remainder of class. Chromebooks should be shut down at the end of each day to allow updates to download the next time they are turned on. Ensure that your Chromebook charges when you plug in your charger.
Cell Phones: Students are prohibited from using personal electronic communication devices during instructional time, which includes the entire period of a scheduled class and other times when students are directed to report to and participate in any instructional activity. All personal electronic communication devices shall be kept stored during instructional time. Storage will be provided in each classroom and students will put any personal electronic communication devices brought to the classroom in that provided storage. With instructor permission, for educational purposes, such devices may be removed from storage during instructional time. If you're caught with your phone more than once, your guardians can pick up your phone from the office.
Dismissal: Please do not start packing your things before the bell has rung. Please remain in your seat until the bell rings unless you are told otherwise. If you need to leave the classroom during the class period, please ask at an appropriate time. If there is an emergency, please leave without asking. If you are excused for a school activity, you need to get the work you will miss prior to leaving for your activity. You do not get extra time to complete assignments for school activities.
