English Department Artificial Intelligence Policy

As a student in an MAHS English course, you will be prohibited from passing off the work of Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs like ChatGPT as your own. Teachers may encourage AI for some assignments, but students must note when they've used AI, and check with teachers about if their use of AI is allowed for assignments that do not explicitly call for it.

Students who attempt to pass off AI work as their own will be subject to the plagiarism penalties outlined by each teacher’s syllabus.
