I graduated from WSU with a degree in Special Education (Learning Disabilities and Developmental Disabilities) and from CSP with a Masters in Autism Spectrum Disorders. I have been teaching since 2013 and have expanded my professional knowledge and training throughout the years to best support students with exceptional needs. My husband, Blake, and our two young boys, Hudson and Beckett, moved to Morris in June of 2022 to be closer to our families who live near the cities. We also have a german shepard/lab dog named Griffey. Our family loves to be outside, playing and watching sports together, and hanging with family and friends whenever possible. We have enjoyed becoming part of the community, making connections, and look forward to our future here in Morris as a family! 

Nelly the Turtle is Mrs. Karas' box turtle who resides in her classroom during the school year. Students love the chance to interact with him and enjoy the positive support options he brings to their day!
