This course will provide you with the skills necessary to manage a school greenhouse for effective experiential teaching and learning. Collaboratively taught by Don Josko, a leading horticulture industry expert, and Deanne McKenna, Morningside University Garden Manager, teachers will develop and practice teaching activities related to greenhouse ventilation, irrigation, artificial lighting, and other typical greenhouse environmental control systems. Participants will also develop industry recognized production skills as well as be introduced to managing aquaponic and hydroponic systems--all with a focus on facilitating student learning.

Collaboratively taught by Aundria Kirchhoff, a leading tower farm industry expert and Deanne McKenna, Morningside University Garden Manager, teachers will develop and practice teaching activities related to integrating vertical hydroponics systems into middle or secondary agricultural education or science education programs. Participants will also develop skills in managing vertical hydroponic systems with a focus on facilitating student learning.
