May Term 2022: Exploring Greece
Spend 9 days in Greece seeing majestic ruins, cruising the islands, and walking in the footsteps of Olympian gods and goddesses. Travel dates will be between May 16 and May 26, depending on best prices.
Itinerary:
Day 1:
Overnight flight from US to Greece
Day 2:
Fly into Athens and have a walking tour with an experienced travel guide that involves
Plaka District
Temple of Olympian Zeus
We will enjoy a traditional Greek dinner called giouvetsi
Day 3:
Continue your guided tour of Athens and see
Olympic Stadium
Syntagma Square
Acropolis, including the Parthenon and Temple of Athen Nike
We will travel to Cape Sounion (where Aegeus, King of Athens leapt to his death, thus naming it the Aegean Sea) and see the Temple of Poseidon and have dinner amid the sunset.
Day 4:
Cruise around the Saronic Islands and see:
Island of Aegina with the ruins of the Temple of Aphaia
Clocktower of Poros, with amazing panoramic views
Traditional island of Hydra, which forbids cars
Day 5:
More personal exploring of Athens, then travel through the Corinth Canel and enter the Argolida region
Day 6:
Explore the Greek countryside and see Epidauras, Mycenae, and reach Olympia by dinnertime. Site seeing will include
Sanctuary of Asclepius
Mycenae, the kingdom of Agamemnon, the Trojan War commander
Day 7:
Tour Olympia with a local guide and then travel to Delphi. We will see
The original location of the Olympic Games
the Museum of Archimedes
Day 8:
Walking tour of the sites at Delphi including
Temple of Apollo
Ruins of Delphi
Return to Athens for the night where will be enjoy a traditional souvlaki dinner
Day 9:
Leave Greece behind and return to the US

Cost
All travel (airfare, boat, bus tours), accommodations, many meals, local guides and entrance fees are included in the pricing.
Final pricing is based on number of travelers; but an estimate is $4,100.
This may seem like a lot, but consider the following:
A plane ticket to Greece and back is about $1,600
Subtracting that, you are only spending $278 per day for hotel, traveling, and exploring with a professional tour guide
Plus, you can pay for the trip in smaller installments:
Payment schedule:
Tuesday, October 12th: $500 deposit due
Friday, Dec. 3rd: $600 payment due
Tuesday, February 1st: $1000 payment due
Tuesday, March 1st: $2000 payment (remaining balance due)
Refund Schedule
Prior to December 3rd: Full refund less $500 deposit
Between December 3rd-February 1st: Full refund less $700
Between February 1st-April 1st: Full refund less $2700
After April 1st: No refund
What about Covid-19?
This trip is booked with an international company (EF tours) that is closely monitoring the covid-19 situation. Should a situation arise in which travel is prohibited or banned, then refunds (minus the $500 deposit) or travel vouchers of the full cost will be given.
What if you get Covid-19 while traveling? EF tours will pay for accommodations during your required quarantine time and deploy staff to ensure your safety and comfort during that time.

COVID-19 Peace of Mind Program
EF provides an exclusive COVID-19 Peace of Mind Program to account for situations related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is automatically included for all travelers and can be enacted at the group or individual level.
For programs scheduled to depart between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021, Group Leaders can enact the COVID-19 Peace of Mind program in the event that any of the following conditions occur as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic between 94 and 45 days prior to the program’s original departure date:
a U.S. federal governmental authority has issued a travel ban or an order restricting travel to a location on your group’s itinerary
a U.S. federal or state governmental authority has issued an order that would require a self-quarantine for travelers in your group upon return home from a location on your group’s itinerary
a governmental order applicable to a location on your group’s itinerary would ban or restrict travel or require visitors to self-quarantine upon arrival
If COVID-19 Peace of Mind is enacted, Group Leaders and individuals may choose one of the following COVID-19 options:
Change the travel dates or program itinerary of your group's current program; or
Cancel your program with each traveler receiving a transferrable COVID-19 Future Travel Voucher for 100% of all money paid to EF; or
Cancel your program with each traveler receiving a cash refund for all of the money paid to EF less $500
COVID Care Promise
As your partner in travel, we have established plans in place to prepare for the unexpected. If a traveler is diagnosed with COVID-19 while on one of our programs, EF will:
Provide local staff to support the traveler throughout the quarantine period
Provide any translation services necessary to help connect local healthcare providers with communication from home
Secure a comfortable and safe quarantine location, working with local authorities as necessary, at no cost to the traveler
Book flights home, at no incremental cost, when the traveler is cleared to fly by the airline
Fly a parent or guardian to the program location if necessary
