Welcome from one of the Chronicle of Higher Education’s 2023 Great Colleges to Work For®! This recent designation is based upon a survey of 194 colleges and universities and recognizes Morningside University among outstanding universities with 500 to 2,999 students. Additionally, our institution won honors in three of the rater’s specific categories including Mission & Pride, Shared Governance, and Faculty Experience. We are proud of our institution and it is pretty evident why we would be designated as one of The Chronicle’s recipients. It’s the people! We are blessed to work with talented faculty and staff across the entire institution. And our students--well, they speak for themselves! We are so very proud of each of their accomplishments!
The Regina Roth Applied Agricultural and Food Studies Department is also a great place to work! Our faculty and staff work hard to provide the highest quality education that we can for our students each and every day. From the behind the scenes work managing laboratory spaces such as our Morningside Garden, Lags Greenhouse, Cargill Outdoor Classroom, and coming soon--our Lags Learning Farm, to participation in summer professional development opportunities; our faculty and staff are second to none in being the best that they can be in order to help our students be the best that they can be! We are indeed blessed and excited to be part of such an exciting time of growth in the AAFS department. Whether you are a student, family member, friend, or stakeholder of the program, or will be in the future, we invite you to come and see what our #ExperienceMatters philosophy is all about here at Morningside University.
In this newsletter, we share several recent accomplishments and new initiatives of the department. We hope that you will enjoy reading about them and hope see you soon!
