Maryam’s passion for photography comes from a fascination with colour and composition. Her deeply personal submission for the exhibition ‘Escape’ is routed in the experiences and emotions she has encountered. It is much more than ‘still life’ or simple ‘food photography’.
Picture transitions represent layers of healing that Maryam has achieved, along with a renewed ability to connect to her childhood, symbolised by traditional Persian dishes. Yellow items represent Maryam’s own ‘lockdown’ which took place long before COVID 19 struck, but is a pandemic still sweeping parts of the globe.
