I chose the theme for my final major project after watching this series on TV.......
I decided to start with yoghurt pots because I liked the idea of her eating the pot instead of the yogurt! I crushed it to give it an interesting shape that I could work with and created a series of drawings. I then experimented with mixed media and stitch using plastic I found around the house.
I built a small sculpture using yogurt pots and created some more abstract drawings.
I turned the drawings into a textile sample
I developed the mark making from the sculpture I created which was fun as later on this becomes a key element of my collection.
I moved onto remote controls, imagining Kailyn nibbling on them as she watched TV!
These are the patterns I created from the remote control after abstracting the shapes.
Collage inspired by artist Andy Butler
I decided to go on virtual tour of the Body Worlds Museum because I was intrigued to see what it looks like inside the body.
I chose Andy Butler because I want to expand my knowledge of collage art. I used this influence to produce my X- Rays collages above.
I tried to replicate the textures she might find as she eats through the different layers of the wall. I though they might work as textiles for my collection or even as prints.
I took this photo in my house as the shapes grabbed my attention. I stitched into the photo to add texture and then created a series of quick response drawings to abstract the shapes.
I though the shapes would help me to create some interesting silhouettes.
