We have studied soil and its importance and now will start to shift our focus to water. Then we will direct our attention to land forms and how they are formed.
Water Cycle - the movement of water from the Earth’s surface into the air and back again
Precipitation - any form of water falling from the air to the Earth’s surface
Evaporation - The change from liquid water to water vapor
Condensation - the change from water vapor to liquid water.
Watershed -an area or ridge of land that separates waters flowing to different rivers, basins, or seas
Water table - underground area where the Earth's surface is saturated with water
Flood Plain - an area of low-lying ground adjacent to a river, formed mainly of river sediments and subject to flooding.
Groundwater - water held underground in the soil or in pores and crevices in rock.
