Parents, I know that we learned division, or math in general, a "different" way. This way has been proven to deepen the students number sense and even help with higher level math as they grow as a learner. This way helps them understand why standard algorithm works. Why we pull down the zero when multiplying or why only divide the first number in traditional algorithm is developmentally inappropriate for their age. They will be learning this next year. It technically is the same as standard algorithm just simply organized in a way that supports their reasoning skills. If you find yourself getting frustrated, please call or email one of the 4th grade teachers and we will do our best in assisting you. I hope these videos help with homework and studying at home.
