What does it mean to be an artist? 

To be an artist, you must be able to see- not just with your eyes, but with your heart. To see possibilities in everything, see what could be, or what has been. See yourself in other people, places and things. Looking forward while also looking back. To create successful art, you need to make other people see what it is that you saw. So be brave and share your perspective with the world, and do so in a way that makes them stop and take notice. However, art isn’t just for others to see and critique, art is an outlet for your creativity and talent. Find where your talents lie, and build that strength. And remember,  “You don’t have the machinery to paint in every style, but you have the tremendous ability to focus and do that which you choose to do and desire to do better than anyone else.” (How Successful Artists Study)
