Our Mustang Readers Book Club is open to 5th graders with a limited number of spots.  Book clubs help bring students together each month to talk about a book our readers have selected. I facilitate the group to support development of effective discussion skills, to lift the level of discussion, and to promote a deep understanding of the writer's and illustrator's craft.  The goal over time is for students to initiate the talk, respond to others in the group and add to each other's ideas using evidence from the text or personal experience to build a rich understanding of the literature we read.  We meet the first Thursday of every month in the library from 3:15 - 3:45 p.m.
