Frequently Asked Questions

Any member of the Montserrat community (students, faculty, and staff) can use the Sculpture Studio for coursework, personal work, or campus projects. You do not need to be enrolled in a sculpture course to access the space.

Everyone who uses the Sculpture Studio must have completed an orientation and been trained on the tools.

Woodshop orientations need to be renewed every academic year. Metal shop orientations need to be renewed every semester

Check-in at the beginning of the semester to sign up for orientations.

Faculty wishing to have a group training / demo for their classes should contact Jennifer.Boisvert@montserrat.edu

It depends on the equipment but most individual training can be completed in 30 minutes to an hour.

There is no charge simply for using the equipment.

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to bring their own materials. The studio does provide some basic materials. We also offer material for re-sale and have an abundance of scrap material that is up for grabs.
