About us

Here at Montrose Community Cupboard, we aim to rescue food from landfill and redistribute to the community, free of charge.

We are so happy to have you join our community. Our motto is GIVE WHAT YOU CAN, TAKE WHAT YOU NEED.

We are a community cupboard for EVERYONE to use.

Our main goal is to reduce food waste going to landfill, with the added bonus of being able to help those in our community.

You can leave food from your garden or pantry: veggies, fruit, herbs, plants, seeds, seedlings or any non-perishable items are welcome at our Kilsyth and Montrose locations.

We also have regular drop offs of food from a range of generous stores. Please bring your own bag, and take empty boxes with you to help with recycling.

The community cupboards are located at 49 Durham Rd, Kilsyth, 3137 (Japara Bridge House)  and 7 Leith Rd, Montrose, 3765 (Montrose Church of Christ). We also run a street library at 16 St James Avenue, Montrose. We are in Victoria, Australia.

If you take any items, enjoy! If you leave items, thank you. We are very grateful to be a part of this community and appreciate each and every one of you.

If you have any questions, please send us a message, via our Facebook admin page Montrose Community Cupboard, on Instagram @montrosecommunitycupboard or by emailing foodisfreemontrose@gmail.com
