New reading and spelling words will be added to the Homework and Study Binder on Day 1 of each lesson. Please go over everything with your child daily.

Here are some things you can do at home to prepare for weekly tests:

Day 1: Review Spelling pretest and study spelling words

Day 2: Choose an activity to practice words to know

Day 3 Reread story and have a discussion to check understanding

Day 4 Read decodable books and review phonics

Day 5 Review Spelling words and words to know

This is especially important if your child struggles with reading!

The best thing you can do is read to or with your child for about 10 minutes daily

Also, PLEASE check your child's folder each day!

Classroom Behavior Policy

All students are expected to follow our behavior policy every day. In order to

BE SAFE BE RESPECTFUL BE RESPONSIBLE

ALL STUDENTS MUST FOLLOW THESE RULES:

1. Use kind words when speaking to others.

2. Listen when the teacher/ other speakers are talking--don't interrupt.

3. Walk quietly in the hallways.

4. Keep hands and feet to yourself.

5. Participate and do your part in class.

6. Follow health rules and procedures.

Students will earn rewards through a "Punch Card" system. For every 10 punches, they may choose from a list of rewards. When a student reaches 20 punches they will turn their card in for a Spartan Slip, and receive a new one. The old card will come home so you can see how quickly they have proven themselves.
