Objectives
Send donation/fundraising information, updates, reminders, and other Montini business to parents.
Communicate regularly with the Class Advocate Chair about Montini business.
Attend MPTA meetings.
Serve as a facilitator for questions and needs of class parents, should any arise.
How do Class Advocates help their child's teacher needs?
This role is ideal for organized, responsible individuals skilled in communication. Most tasks are done through email, allowing working parents who can’t be present during school hours to contribute. Advocates aren’t required to be in the building during school hours. Serving as an Advocate also fulfills the entire MONTINI FAMILY SERVICE HOUR requirement for the year.
Class Advocates will be there to answer the call when their child’s teacher needs:
Resource referrals (“Do any parents have contacts with a librarian, firefighter, or horticulturist?”)
Supplies (“We require four containers of red playdough and five hundred feet of tin foil. Can anyone assist?”)
Volunteer coordination (“Seeking six parents to support the reading circuits next Thursday.”)
Event planning (“Let’s brainstorm ideas for a Valentine’s Day celebration.”)
Feedback requests (“Which day would be most convenient for families to…”)
If the role described resonates with you, reach out to me using the "I want to Help My Classroom" link above. In the application, please explain why you would like to be the Advocate for your class and confirm that you can fulfill its responsibilities. Our school principals will make the final selections.
I look forward to your response. While parenting can be challenging, together we can achieve remarkable outcomes; indeed, it takes a village!
Here’s to many years of collaboration, with God’s grace, for the benefit of our children.
