Current information on Corona virus (COVID-19) for tourists in Montenegro

In order to protect the health of citizens and tourists residing in Montenegro, the Government of Montenegro has adopted a series of temporary measures to prevent the risk of the possible spread of COVID 19.

Tourists currently residing in Montenegro can find information on all health-related issues on the website of the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro https://www.ijzcg.me/ and via Call Center 1616 ( on weekdays from 8 AM to 8 PM and during the weekend for 10 AM to 4 PM ).

Entering to Montenegro

Montenegrin citizens and foreigners can enter through all border crossings.



Personal/general measures

Mandatory wearing masks in health facilities, collective accommodation and public transport and compliance with measures of physical distance of at least two meters indoors and outdoors in all municipalities in Montenegro

What is allowed/open?

  • Intercity passenger traffic

  • Grocery stores (markets, supermarkets, hypermarkets)

  • Cafes, restaurants, bars, hotels, with the possibility of sitting at a table for a maximum of four guests

  • Public transport

  • Taxi transport

  • All ports for cruisers and yachts

  • he Inland maritime traffic

  • Ski resorts

  • National parks of Montenegro

  • Beauty and hairdressing salons

  • Fitness centers and gyms the condition that a space of 10m2 must be provided for one person

  • Children's playrooms providing at least 10 m2 of space per person.

  • Bookmakers

  • Amusement parks (carousel, etc. up to 100 people)

  • In shopping, business centers with an area of over a thousand square meters and which have more than three business entities, the presence of one person per 10 square meters is allowed, respecting basic measures.

  • Private outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people (respecting the recommendations of the Institute of Public Health)

  • Public gatherings in the open (with the obligation t maintain a distance of two meters

  • Presence of the audience in sports halls, up to 50 percent of the total number of seats, and a distance of one seats between spectators.

  • At outdoor sports events, it is allowed to fill the stands up to two thirds of the total number of seats, while respecting the basic epidemiological measures.

  • It is allowed to perform a religious rite in a religious building in the presence of one person on 10 square meters, with the obligatory of respect for distance.

  • Holding weddings, birthdays and other private celebrations with the providing space of 10m2 per person .

  • Visits to cultural institutions (theaters, cinemas, museums, galleries)

  • During all other days until May 13 the working hours of all catering facilities, are limited to 01:00 hours, noting that during the full working hours, it is allowed to perform and broadcast music live and speaker music.

  • Staying in houses and apartments is recommended only to members of the same household.

  • Work of night clubs and discos.

  • School trips and excursions.
