My family is made up of my husband and two sons and myself. I grew up and attended schools in Montebello Unified where I met my husband. We recently purchased our first home in Montebello in 2019. My sons are nine and seven years old and are attending Montebello Unified schools as well. My sons love their school community and look forward to all their future school experiences. I love spending time with my family. We love to travel, play sports, watch movies, and spend time with each other.
I graduated from California State University of Los Angeles (CSULA) in the Spring of 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Learning with a mild to moderate Special Education preliminary credential. My Urban Learning degree prepared me to teach children in the diverse schools of the urban Greater Los Angeles area with a wide range of learning needs. Urban schools demand well-prepared and culturally sensitive teachers.
I was hired as a special education SDC teacher in Montebello Unified (MUSD) in August 2018. I work at Garfield Elementary school in the city of Bell Gardens. Garfield Elementary currently has three SDC classes and my class is the middle-grade level class.
My class in 2020-2021 was made up of 2nd-4th graders. I had nine 4th graders, four 3rd graders, and one 2nd grader. I had six female and eight male students.
