About Me

Welcome to my classroom!

This is year number thirteen for me here at MVHS. I am excited for another great year.  I am thrilled to be in the classroom again! This will be my first year teaching math. I love being a part of the Monte Vista community.

I am a San Luis Valley native; I grew up in La Jara and graduated with my BA in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English from Adams State University. I have my MS in School Counseling. My roots are here in the Valley. I live on a sheep and cattle ranch with my husband. I also have two kids (a daughter and a son) who are the center of my life. When I'm not hanging out with them, you can find me in my classroom.

I love to read! (That's probably why I became an English teacher initially.) I believe as Joseph Brodsky said, "There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them."

I hope to spread my desire for education and love for math to my students. We cannot hope to succeed without a desire for knowledge. So let's get ready to learn how to think critically and for ourselves and have a great year!
