Lesson 2.5

Welcome to Honors 10 Unit 2, Lesson 5! In this lesson's objective...

How can we learn from the past so we do not repeat its mistakes? In “The Perils of Indifference,” Elie Wiesel draws on his experiences as a Holocaust survivor to urge people to be kind, as history has shown we are capable of terrible cruelty. This speech will prompt students to reflect on how a leader can communicate and invest others in a goal. Students will analyze the motivations and philosophy of the old alchemist character to answer questions from “The Perils of Indifference” in his voice.
