Lesson 1.3

Lesson 1.3 Objective

Should students stay close to home or set off to pursue opportunities elsewhere after high school? Two students present their cases for each of these options in argumentative essays. After engaging in a close reading and discussion of “Life After High School,” students will be able to evaluate the impact of textual and graphic information on an author’s argument, in a short written response. Additionally, students will be able to integrate and evaluate multiple sources of information presented in different media or formats (e.g., visually, quantitatively) as well as in words to address a question or solve a problem.
