How do I earn back my credit?
Students are permitted to attend Summer School for remediation purposes if they earn a final course average of at least a 55 during the academic year. Summer School is intended to provide students with an opportunity to remediate learning and earn credit for a previously attempted course. Upon successful completion, the summer school course, grade earned during summer school, and earned credit will be recorded on the student’s official transcript as a summer school course, in accordance with district grading and reporting practices. You earn your credit back through hours in the course and your course grade. You must log 60 hours in the course on Edmentum. These hours are active hours where you are interacting with course content.
Is this online or in person?
Summer School 2026 is available online and in person. There are two sessions that run from 8:00am-10:00am and 10:00am-12:00pm. No transportation is available.
How much does this cost?
Summer School courses are free for WHS students during the 2026 session.
What program is being utilized during Summer School?
Students will complete coursework on the Edmentum (PLATO) platform. It is a combination of instructional tutorials, activities and assessments. Teachers are in person to assist during the scheduled session times (8:00am-10:00am and 10:00am-12:00pm Monday through Thursday).
Do I need to use my chromebook?
A chromebook is required for course material. This will allow teachers to better assist you and ensure that the programming works properly. No support will be offered for a personal device.
What if I am a Senior and turned in my chromebook already?
Seniors will be issued a chromebook for Summer School. The chromebook must be returned on the last day of Summer School (July 31, 2026) or credit will not be released.

What if I will be away during a portion of Summer School?
You must meet the weekly hour deadlines. If you will be away, you may work ahead in advance to stay on track.
Are there any days off during Summer School?
Summer School operates Monday through Thursday from June 22, 2026 through July 30, 2026. Summer School will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026 for the Fourth of July holiday (observed).
Can I work ahead in the Summer School program?
Yes, you may work ahead of the established pace and complete courses ahead of schedule. However, you must still earn a passing grade and log 60 hours in the Summer School program to regain credit.
When will I see my updated credits/grade in Genesis?
Grades for Summer School are stored in Genesis the week of August 3, 2026. You will find your updated course score in Genesis shortly after. All course data is stored in Edmentum as well for record of your course completion.
Is transportation available?
Transportation is not available for Summer School 2026.
