Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and skills they need to:
recognize and manage their emotions;
demonstrate caring and concern for others;
establish positive relationships;
make responsible decisions; and
handle challenging situations constructively.
As our school continues to grow in ways of implementing SEL practices in the school setting, we are looking to further extend SEL to our Monroe families. ISBE and CASEL frameworks have guided our practices thus far. Below you will find links to SEL Resources. These resources are available to not only help further your understanding of SEL but also offers ways to discuss SEL at home with your child(ren).
