Hayu Saghalie is the name of the annual publication. The name was given to the book decades ago; meant to name Monroe's High Rock mountain. The location is an easy climb and enjoyed by many for it's beautiful lookout view.
Can you share all your ___ photos with me? No, our policy is to hold the photos taken for the yearbook publication.
• Privacy and media permissions: Some students and families have requested that their images not be shared outside of official school publications. To respect those privacy choices and stay compliant with district and FERPA policies, we can only use the photos within the yearbook itself.
• Copyright and ownership: The photos taken by student photographers are part of an official, copyrighted school publication. They’re considered editorial content rather than general event photography, and we can’t legally or ethically release them for other purposes.
• Consistency and fairness: Because the yearbook team photographs so many events and students, it would be impossible to separate which images could be shared and which could not. For that reason, we have to treat all yearbook images the same way and keep them within the publication.
Mrs. Stephanie Hudson has been a yearbook adviser since 2002; 8 years at a school in Illinois and the rest here at MHS since 2010.
The yearbook is the product of a year-long, 1 credit course at MHS. Students work very hard to photograph and document life in and around MHS each year. The publication is student driven - so while we use a professional publisher, we are not professionals. =) We do the best we can and are thankful for the opportunity to document each year.
