About Mr. Rice

I am a husband, father, son, brother, and educator who believes that learning should never stop. I graduated from Barren County High School in 1998 and went on to attend Western Kentucky University, where I majored in History and Religious Studies. While still in college, I married my wife, and together we have been blessed with four wonderful children. Today, our two oldest children have graduated, while our youngest two are still in school.

After college, I spent ten years in retail management before answering a new calling in education. In 2017, I became a certified Social Studies teacher, combining my love of history with a passion for helping young people grow both academically and personally. I am grateful to be part of the Monroe County Middle School family and consider it a privilege to invest in the lives of students each day.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, exploring the outdoors, reading, and playing guitar. I believe that education is about more than simply acquiring knowledge—it is about developing character, cultivating curiosity, and preparing students to become thoughtful and responsible citizens.
