This is my 16th year teaching in the Monroe County School System, and I am thrilled to continue being a part of the Gamaliel Elementary School family! I teach first grade, and I truly love what I do. My students mean so much to me, and I am blessed with a classroom full of children who are ready, willing, and eager to learn each day.
I am a 2005 graduate of Monroe County High School. I went on to attend Western Kentucky University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2010. I was fortunate to complete my student teaching at Gamaliel Elementary School and to work with the STARS afterschool and summer programs. I later earned my master’s degree in Library and Media Sciences in May 2013 and completed my Rank I in Literacy Education at WKU in May 2018. I am also proud to share that I became a National Board Certified Teacher in December 2019, with a specialization in literacy for ages 3–12.
Outside of the classroom, I am married to my husband, Adam, and am the proud mother of two wonderful children. My daughter, Claire, is seventeen and a senior, and my son, Abel, is eleven and in sixth grade. They are truly the light of my life, and I am incredibly proud of them every single day.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, visiting the lake, beach, or pool, reading, sewing, watching Netflix, and relaxing at home.
