8th Grade English-Language Arts

Welcome 8th Graders

I know this school year doesn't look very typical, but I'm looking forward to a great year. I hope you find yourselves eager to learn and grow with your peers.

This will be my 6th year teaching, all five years being at Monroe County Middle School. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and Professional Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. I also have a Master's Degree in Teaching from University of the Cumberlands.

In my spare time I enjoy staying active, reading and writing. Some of my favorite authors include Stephen King, Khaled Hosseini, and J.D. Salinger. I enjoy writing creative and analytical pieces.

I hope you find something you enjoy as well in our course work throughout the year. In this course, my goal is for you to leave a better writer, more analytical reader, and an overall more prepared individual learner.
