Curriculum

Primary (Kindergarten-2nd Grade)

1.) Locomotor Movements (Running, walking, jumping, hopping, skipping, galloping, & shuffling) and Non-locomotor movements (Bending, twisting, turning, balancing, pushing, pulling, and stretching). 

2.) Manipulative Movements (Throwing, trapping, tossing, catching, kicking, dribbling, shooting, & passing).

3.) Jump Rope

4.) Team Building (Variety of games/activities to help students build rapport between one another).

5.) Activity Days/Game Days (These will be sprinkled in throughout the year for students).

Intermediate (3rd Grade-5th Grade)

1.) Football (Sport specific skills and sport specific knowledge/rules). 

2.) Soccer (Sport specific skills and sport specific knowledge/rules).

3.) Basketball (Sport specific skills and sport specific knowledge/rules).

4.) Jump Rope

5.) Volleyball (Sport specific skills and sport specific knowledge/rules).

6.) Activity Days/Game Days (These will be sprinkled in throughout the year for students).

Fitnessgram Testing: 

(Only 4th & 5th grade will do fitnessgram testing).

Fitnessgram testing at JHC & TES will consist of three tests. Each test measures either students' cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, &/or muscular endurance.  

1.) The Pacer Test.

2.) The Push-Up Test.

3.) The Curl-Up Test.

After each test is administered, students will have a record saved for them to refer to in the spring or next year to track their personal growth when we do fitness gram testing again. The goal is for students to improve every time they test!
