SUPPLY LIST
SUPPLY LIST
Parents are kindly asked to please supply the following items for the upcoming school year if possible. (This is not mandatory as I will provide anything that you cannot.)
2 two-pocket Folders (with pockets on bottom, not on the sides)
2 WIDE-ruled spiral notebooks (no college-ruled lines please)
1 pencil case or "pouch" for storing supplies (must be small enough to fit in desk - it is better for students to have 2 smaller ones than 1 big one that won't fit in your child's desk.)
24 pack of crayons - Since boxes break quickly, put the box of crayons into a baggie please.
1 box of sharpened pencil (Ticonderoga brand preferred.) Please label with initials or name.
6 (or more) glue sticks
6 (or more) Expo markers - thin are best - any color but yellow
At least 2 3" x 5" post it pads, any color (write name on backs)
All students need to bring in, and leave here, a jacket to be kept in their cubbies at all times because our classroom is often on the colder side.
** Please note, that in our classroom, students will have a cubby supply basket to hold extra items so that desks are not "packed" and items can be easily accessed. For example, students may keep several pencils in their pencil cases at their desks but can have a big box of pencils in their supply basket when more are needed.
**Parents may be asked to help replenish some supplies later in the school year.

Optional But Appreciated
A Planner - with lines (not small boxes) with enough space to write down HW and information daily - keep it simple and not expensive. (2nd grade students will not receive one from the PTO/school, as was done in the past.)
1 pair of kid's scissors ( I have a bunch for borrowing.)
2 Highlighters (any color)
1 three ring binder, 1/2" preferred - no bigger than 1" please
1 rectangular pink eraser
BLUE or BLACK ERASABLE PENS are permitted for doing specific classwork because they can be erased. (These are fun for your child but not necessary.)
Any color pens (except blue or black) for self-correcting classwork when we go over our work. (These are fun for your child but not necessary.)
1 small white board eraser or 1 white sock (can be an old sock) to be used as an eraser)
VERY OPTIONAL: Over the ear, wire headphones with microphone for your child's personal testing use - the school does provide standard headphones for students that need them. If you provide them, the headphones will be sent home at the end of the year so you can use them again in another grade.
We always need tissues and wipes but there is no where to store a "bunch". SO, DURING YOUR CHILD'S BIRTHDAY MONTH, B-day kids are asked to contribute to our class supply of...
tissues, 1 box (if we run out I will ask for more throughout the year)
1 container of wet wipes for hands, without Clorox.
Summer B-Day kids can send theirs in at anytime during the year.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Students will have access to shared magic markers, gel pens, and colored pencils. If you want your child to have their own personal "art media" items, it is permitted. Please do not send in permanent markers for your child's personal use as they are not allowed.
Please put your child's name or initial's on all the items that you send in, except for shared items like tissues and wipes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1st Small Pencil Case can be the "classwork tools" case - about 5 sharpened pencils, 1 eraser, 2 pens, 1 Expo Marker, 1 glue stick, etc. Add crayons if they fit. (The main idea here are supplies your child will use readily when doing classwork. You do not want an overly stuffed case where supplies fall out everytime your child opens it. We also don't want markers falling to the floor everytime your child needs a pencil.)
2nd pencil case - Put in "art" type media, like markers, colored pencils, scissors, crayons (if they don't fit in case #1), etc.
ALL THE REST OF THE SUPPLIES/EXTRAS CAN BE KEPT IN ANY KIND OF CASE OR ZIPLOCK BAGGIES TO BE STORED IN YOUR CHILD'S PERSONAL SUPPLY BASKET. Anything your child doesn't use will be sent home at the end of the year. Students can get these extra supplies when they are needed. Desks are not big enough to hold everything all at once.
Not sure "where" to put it? No worries... open up the packages and place those items in a case or baggie. I will organize your child in class.
