Using Oxford Owl E-books
https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/books/free-ebooks/
This is a site which you can join for free to get ebook reading books to help your child to continue with their reading at home.
When you first enter the site, it will ask you to select the book level for your child. You can do this either by their age group, book series (we use Oxford Reading Tree) or by Oxford Owl Level.
To find the correct books you need, I would recommend you do this by looking at your child’s books in their reading folder and you will see on the left-hand side of the spine a colour or number. This indicates the colour band for the books your child is currently reading at school and correlates to the phonics band they are working within.
If you then select Browse by Oxford Level and select the colour – for example Book Band Orange – Oxford Level 6 – you will then be able to access the books in that band/level.
To read the ebooks you will then have to register and login, however this is free to all parents and new ebooks are regularly added. It is recommended to read the books or a computer or laptop, however these can be read on a mobile.
Please continue (if and when you can) to read, share stories, make up stories, listen to story time, rhyme, play alphabet games, I spy etc.
Best wishes,
Mrs Contardi
