The Research Data Culture Conversation (RDCC) was established in 2017 between research intensive universities in Australia. Following Monash University analysis that showed the annual compounding growth of their retained research data volume was at 75%, a conversation emerged between the University of Melbourne, the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney to understand - do you also feel the pain?
In 2019, The University of Queensland joined the steering committee and the conversation continued under the banner of RDCC. The RDCC continues to develop an understanding of a model for best practice where expenditure on research data can be optimised against the motivators and measures of research reputation, quality and impact.
A number of key ideas have emerged from discussion, see Key Concepts for more on these discoveries.
