We are located in greater Kuala Lumpur, in the Klang Valley, one of the region’s industrial hotspots. We sit in the heart of the rapidly developing economic corridor linking Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and beyond. Our education and research is oriented towards deep engagement with this dynamic social and industrial landscape.

We are seeking up to 20 postdoctoral fellows to contribute to this dynamic research environment.

OUR PRIORITY AREAS FOR POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH

Postdoctoral Fellowships at Monash University Malaysia

Monash University Malaysia is seeking up to 20 Postdoctoral Fellows to contribute to our expanding research program. These prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowship positions will involve:

  • Full academic salary for three years.

  • Appointment as a Research Fellow with fulltime allocation to research activities. In exception cases appointment at Senior Research Fellow will be considered.

  • Research funding of 20,000 ringgit per year.

  • Supervision and mentoring from senior Monash University Malaysia researchers.

  • Postdoctoral fellows will be on a fixed term (three year contract) but if there are relevant vacancies, postdoctoral fellows will be considered for an ongoing academic appointment, based on an assessment of performance during the fellowship.

The Postdoctoral Fellows will be expected to:

  • Conduct original research and scholarship under the supervision and direction of their supervisor and/or team leader.

  • Develop an active record of publication and start to build a portfolio of grants and supervision

  • Where appropriate, participate in collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive research impact

The Postdoctoral Fellowships are offered in the eight priority areas shown above.

Selection Criteria

  • Alignment with one of the eight priority areas.

  • A doctorate qualification (PhD) in a discipline relevant to the priority area awarded in the last 5 years.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce excellent research and supervise undergraduate or honours students.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with partners in universities, government, industry and/or civil society.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and teamwork.
