Dr. Liang Ee Low earned his Master in Engineering with Honours in Chemical Engineering in University of Nottingham and PhD from Monash University. Later, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Monash University Malaysia and Zhejiang University for a total of three years. He is currently a Lecturer in Monash University Malaysia.
His research focuses on the development of smart micro-/nano-assemblies for food and biomedical applications, which could be categorized as: (1) the design of magnetoliposomes, magnetic nanocellulose assemblies and gold-iron oxide nanocomposites for tumor-targeted imaging, drug delivery and hyperthermia, and (2) the micro-/nano-encapsulation, preservations of bioactive ingredients in bionanoparticle-based hydrogel and emulsion systems for smart food supplement preparation.
He has published over 40 papers in ISI-indexed journals and 2 book chapters with an H-index of 19. He is a reviewer of Carbohydrate Polymers, LWT – Food Science and Technology, Small, Colloids and Surfaces B, Ultrasonics Sonochemistry, Cellulose, Cancer Nanotechnology, etc. He also serves as an editorial board member in Progress in Drug Discovery and Biomedical Science. He is a Chartered Engineer certified by the Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK, and a Certified/Accredited Trainer of Human Resource Development Corporation, Malaysia.
