This can be in the form of developing new technology that can support the screening and detection of the disease and the discovery of new biomarkers that are mechanical and/or pathological. Medical Devices and Technology (MDT)
The MDT theme focuses on developing medical devices that enhance healthcare and improve the overall well-being of the population. A significant aspect of this theme is the biomechanics of human motion, which is crucial for the quality of life of the elderly and patients with limited mobility. Additionally, the MDT theme identifies end-user problems in healthcare and collaborates with clinicians to address these issues through the integration of advanced technology.Â
Medical Imaging and Biosignal Processing (MIBio)
The MIBio theme integrates AI into healthcare to enhance medical imaging analysis and biosignal data processing across various forms. This integration is crucial as AI can assist medical practitioners in their decision-making processes. The MIBio theme utilises novel AI model and algorithm to improve the accuracy and efficiency of medical image reading, which is crucial in early disease diagnosis and more effective treatment planning. This paves the way for innovative healthcare solutions and personalized medicine.
