The Monash Medical Engineering and Technology Research Hub, otherwise known as the MET, is established under the Engineering Research Hub program of the School of Engineering, Monash University Malaysia. The MET is a multidisciplinary research hub that seeks to integrate state-of-the-art technology such as nanotechnology, rapid prototyping, advanced modelling and simulation techniques, artificial intelligence, robotics, neural interfaces and many more, to address new and existing challenges in healthcare, medicine and the general well-being. A core element of the MET is the adoption of a patient centric approach, whereby the needs of patients and healthcare professionals are given priority when designing solutions to address these challenges.Â
The MET unites academics from various disciplines and schools in Monash University Malaysia who share a common goal in engineering better healthcare. With the support from the School of Engineering, the MET aims to become a self-sustaining transformative research hub that bridges the realms of engineering, science and medicine to contribute towards healthcare advancement. The MET seeks to establish a dynamic research ecosystem where mutually beneficial partnerships with healthcare institutions are formed with the aim of converging knowledge and technology to create tangible impact to improve human health.
