Jackomos Hall is named in honour of Merle Jackomos OAM, a proud Yorta Yorta woman and tireless advocate for Aboriginal rights. Raised at Cummeragunja Mission, she dedicated her life to advancing social justice, helping to found critical services and organisations for Aboriginal communities across Victoria. A respected leader, she was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her lifelong commitment to Aboriginal welfare and empowerment.
