Participation in the research involves completing a series of tasks on the decision support system through Power BI. The tasks have been defined below.
Before starting the experiment, you will need to fill in a base-line questionnaire. On completion, you will need to fill in an exit questionnaire to provide feedback on the experience including any change in your low back pain level if it occurred during performing any of the movements.
For each participant, all tasks and survey responses can take up to 20 minutes.
Access Instructions
Launch your preferred internet browser (chrome recommended).
Launch the system by navigating to the link DEXTER
Click on Expansion Recommendations.
This should take you to the recommendations screen. This screen provides a list of stores recommended for Expansion.
Click on VIC under the Filter By section on the right.
This should filter the list of recommendations to be limited to stores located in Victoria.
Click on MEDIUM for the size filter.
This should filter the list of recommendations further to show Medium sized stores only.
Click on LAST 12 Months for the period filter.
This should filter the list of recommendations further to show Medium sized stores only.
Examine the notification that shows the number of stores recommended for expansion.
Examine the list of stores available.
Locate the Store Werribee in the list.
Examine the Average Customer counts per day, Average Appointments per day, Average Sales per day.
Examine the Recommendation Confidence indicator.
Examine the store size descriptors in the bottom section.
Examine the Retail Area range for stores classified as MEDIUM.
Examine the Number of Rooms range for stores classified as MEDIUM.
Examine the Number of Transaction Desks range for stores classified as MEDIUM.
Search for the store Werribee in the store detail selector on the right.
Continue with Task 2.
Click on View Store Analytics.
This should take you to the Store Analytics screen.
Examine the store selection drop down. This should be set to the previously selected Werribee.
Examine the physical attributes of the selected store such as Area, Number of Desks, Number of Rooms and then Size description at the top.
Examine the Recommendation Confidence for the selected store.
In the Period selection filter
Click on Last 12 Months to change the frequency of aggregation.
The KPIs and Trend lines should now update to reflect the selected aggregation and frequency.
Examine the ACTUAL Customer, Appointments and Sales trends for last 12 months.
Examine the FORECAST for Customer, Appointments and Sales trends for next 12 months.
Examine the Appointment metrics for this store.
Stay on this screen and continue on with Task 3.
Click on Compare with Other Stores.
This should take you to the Store Comparisons screen.
In the Store B section, select MEDIUM in the store filter, and then search for the Store Keysborough in the drop-down list.
In the filters section on the right
Click on Last 16 Months to change the frequency of aggregation. The KPIs and Trend lines should now update to reflect the selected aggregation and frequency.
Examine the ACTUAL Customer, Appointments and Sales trends for last 16 months.
Examine the comparison indicator in the KPI indicators for Store B. The color scales will highlight if this Store B performs better than Store A.
