Core Academics: (3:20-4:20 daily) Do you need help understanding the work in your core classes? The Core Academics Club can provide the support you need to be more successful. If you just need a quiet place to work, this is the place for you as well.
First Lego League: (3:20-5:20 Tuesday & Thursday~Quarters 1 & 2) FLL introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today's students and teachers build a better future together.
Lego Challenge Club: (3:20-5:20 Tuesday & Thursday~Quarters 3 & 4) Lego Challenge begins second semester and provides students the opportunity to build and battle Lego robots!
Theater Club: (3:20-4:20 Thursday, starts 10/13) The theater is a place where students learn how to act, work behind the scenes, and appreciate the theater arts. We will have opportunities to create and put on plays, become a member of a national Theater Association (that continues into high school), and so much more! If you are a part of theater or want to learn more, this is your place to shine!
DJ Club: (3:20-5:20 Fridays, starts 2/3) Do you have an interest in the music industry, the art of DJ'ing, or the art of music production? DJ club will provide the opportunity to learn how to use professional quality DJ equipment including synchronized lights, fog machines, sound mixers, speakers and rigging equipment.
Gaming Club (Technology): (3:20-4:20 Tuesday) Love playing video games? Come to Gaming Club! Play on our Nintendo Switch or bring your own device.
Art Club (8th grade only, starts 11/7): (3:20-4:20 Monday) This is an 8th grade club where a new project is introduced each meeting. Students may also choose to work on whatever art they would like.
Board Game Bonanza Club: (7:20-7:50 daily & 3:20-4:20 Thursday) If you like to play board games or assemble puzzles...this is the club for you!
Culinary Club (6th/7th grade only) : (4:20-5:20 2 Fridays per month) Must apply with Mrs. Smice Culinary club teaches the fundamentals of cooking- beginning with knife skills and ending with cooking a full meal for family and friends.
Chess Club: (3:20-4:20 Monday, starts 11/7) This is an interactive club for students who are interested in the great game of chess. We accept beginners all the way to advanced players who are interested in playing games against their peers.
Book Club: (3:20-4:20 Wednesday, may be remote) This virtual club meets to read and discuss books selected by book club members.
Make It Us Club: (3:20-4:20 Monday) Join the Make It Us Club to create posters, bulletin boards, decorations, and surveys to showcase the students in our school and their interests. Take our school and "Make It Us"
Walking Club: (3:20-4:20 Monday & Thursday) The Walking Club is a great way to have fun with friends and make new ones! Walking boosts energy, improves your mood, and relieves stress.
Green Architecture: (3:20-4:20 Tuesday starts 11/8) Must apply with Mr. Perkins. In Green Architecture, students will be learning about architecture and construction in order to use great software to measure, plan, and design sustainable housing units. Space is limited to 10 students for this club. Any student in 6th through 8th grade is welcome and it is first-come first-served.
School of Rock: (3:20-5:20 Monday) Must apply/audition with Ms. Axup. Wilson is going to have its very own rock band! If you can sing, play percussion, play the guitar or if you want to learn what it takes to rig equipment for a stage gig...this is the club for you!
Art Journaling Club: (3:20-4:20 Monday & Thursday) The Art Journaling Club will teach students how to keep a journal and express themselves creatively through writing and art. Students will learn about different writers and artists and explore how they can incorporate writing and art into their everyday lives. Students will learn to write for themselves, write for an audience, and have hands-on experiences in creating a journal that is an expression of themselves by combining different writing and art techniques.
Eco Club: (3:20-4:20 Thursday) The goal of this club is to clean, maintain and beautify the school grounds. Students will meet regularly to pick up rubbish and plan a pollinator garden on the school grounds. This garden will encourage migrating monarch butterflies as well as support other habitats for a variety of animals and insects.
Theater Tech Club: (3:20-4:20 Tuesday, starts 10/11) Students will learn the behind-the-scenes of theater including make-up, set design and building, costumes, lights, and sound, directing, and choreography.
Woodchucks Club: (3:20-5:20 Monday) Students will learn how to use basic woodworking tools and make small projects.
School Spirit Club: (3:20-4:20 Tuesday, Q4) Students will meet to learn school cheers and find ways to spread school spirit in our building. All are welcome whether they have been a cheerleader before, or not!
