According to legend, "Mokena" means "land of the mud turtle" so in your final year of District 159 we want you to embrace your heritage as you look to the future.

For your part, we expect you to live up to the standards of our 8th grade.  Mud Turtles contribute without reward, progress without a push, and do the right thing even when no one is looking.

Many fine students have been Mud Turtles before you, and you will continue to set the bar for those who follow in your footsteps.  So have fun.  Work hard.
