Melissa is always 100% dedicated to her Art, her assignments for all of her art studies, and her Independent Study. She goes out of her way to pursue her artistic interests, and pushes herself to do and achieve more. Notably was her work in assisting the formatting and graphic work for the new arrowhead magazine, helping other students with their photography and programs, her independent study exploration, and working with her father to participate in the Faculty Art Show this coming month in the HS Art Gallery. Keep up the excellent work and attitude!

Kendi MacDormand began the year as one of my quietest students. She did not speak up. She hesitated to reserve help. And she even began to outwardly appear to be disengaging with the course. But, what few questions she had asked had high levels of insight. As her teacher, I gave her space as well as some confidence boosters in our interactions. She soon realized just how close she was to mastering material that she had felt could be hopeless. With that, she began to attend after school help a couple of times. This simple, minor intervention has made all of the difference. All of a sudden, Kendi is not only capable of working with the bulk of the material, but I sense that she would soon be able to even peer-tutor some others with this material. I wanted to recognize Kendi for not giving up on herself in the face of adversity and uncertainty. Congratulations on your nomination for Student of the Month in the Mathematics Department.

Jace's continual pursuit in knowledge is admirable and inspiring. He constantly puts in the effort to get his work done and to motivate his peers to do the same whenever he is in class. His love of reading and willingness to learn more along with his curious mind; culminates into a human being that has the potential to make a difference. And that in and of itself should be commended.
