Full Time Building Maintenance

The Mohawk School District is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Building Maintenance position. The Building Maintenance position ensures District buildings, equipment, and mechanical systems remain safe, secure, clean, and fully operational. This role performs ongoing preventative maintenance, essential repairs, facility improvements, snow removal, event support, and custodial duties to foster a safe, welcoming, and healthy learning environment for all students, staff, and visitors

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Technical, vocational, or trade school training preferred.
Minimum 3 years of commercial, institutional, industrial, or school facility maintenance experience required.
Practical working knowledge across multiple trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, masonry, drywall and roofing.
EPA/HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler, or other relevant trade certifications preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot commercial systems, read blueprints and schematics, and utilize computer-based work order systems (such as FMX).
Proficient in operating power tools, snow removal gear, forklifts, aerial lifts, and utility vehicles while strictly adhering to OSHA regulations and SDS guidelines.
Valid Driver's License required.
Must be able to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on District buildings, mechanical systems, and operational equipment to prevent failures and extend asset life.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment across facilities.
Repair doors, windows, locks, ceilings, flooring, roofs, walls, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and general building hardware.
Perform skilled painting, drywall patching/finishing, and carpentry work.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections and accurately document tasks, repairs, and completions within the FMX work order system.
Perform timely snow and ice removal using plows, snowblowers, salters, and shovels to maintain safe walkways, parking lots, and roadways.
Safely operate specialized equipment including snowplows, forklifts, aerial lifts, and utility vehicles.
Assist with custodial duties as operational needs require, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping/waxing floors, and trash removal.
Restock restroom supplies, support event setups and teardowns, perform routine building security checks, and handle emergency cleanups.
Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and materials across District sites.
Participate actively in required safety, technical, and compliance training programs.
Complete all assigned work safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established standards.
Maintain, inspect, clean, and properly store tools, machinery, and District equipment.
Establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with District staff, students, and community members.
Promptly identify and report unsafe conditions, safety hazards, or equipment failures to the Director of Operations.
Perform other facility-related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Part Time Bus Driver

The Mohawk School District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Bus Driver position. This role is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and reliable transportation for students to and from school, athletic events, and field trips in a secure, supportive, and punctual environment while maintaining compliance with state regulation and district policies.

Qualifications

Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of assigned duties; ability to read bus routes and schedules.
Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
Capability to pass drug test and required criminal background clearances.
Valid Pennsylvania CDL driver's with “P” and “S” endorsement.
Ability to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
Complete all required drivers training with a passing grade.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Obeys all traffic laws.
Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
Maintains discipline when students are on bus.
Documents and reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
Keeps assigned bus clean by picking up trash and sweeping daily.
Maintains assigned route and schedule.
Checks bus daily for fluids and mechanical defects; notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
Picks-up and discharges students only at authorized stops.
Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
Transports only authorized students.
Reports all accidents immediately and completes required documentation.
Enforces all District regulations on the bus (smoking, eating, etc).
Performs custodial maintenance duties in the garage as assigned during non-driving hours.
Other duties as may be assigned by supervisory personnel.
Performs duties assigned to bid positions during non-student days / summer work.
Reports to work on all scheduled days and for all hours required except as otherwise delineated within the bus driver agreement.

Part Time Police Officer

The Mohawk School Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time School Police Officer position. This role is responsible for helping maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment for all students, staff, and visitors, while ensuring the district is prepared to respond effectively to safety and security emergencies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree preferred
Act 120 certification or graduation from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy required
Completion of NASRO training required

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Provide law enforcement and police services on school property, school grounds, and surrounding areas
Investigate alleged criminal incidents in accordance with Mohawk Police Department policies and procedures
Enforce applicable state and local laws, as well as county ordinances when necessary
Make appropriate referrals to juvenile authorities and other governmental agencies
Promote the prevention of juvenile delinquency through positive relationships and regular interaction with students
Develop and implement crime prevention programs and conduct security inspections to deter criminal or delinquent activity
Maintain strong partnerships with school administrators to support a safe school environment
Assist administrators with enforcing Board of Education policies and procedures
Support administrator safety by being present during searches that may involve weapons, controlled substances, or heightened emotional situations
Assist with emergency preparedness, crisis planning, and building security
Provide training for school personnel on responding to crisis situations within the district

Day-to-Day Substitute Teachers

Mohawk Area School District is seeking day to day substitute teachers. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play an important role in enhancing the quality of children's educational experience by providing highly skilled, committed, and a caring education to the classroom academically and behaviorally.

Responsibilities

In the absence of the classroom teacher, provide instruction and manage the learning environment
Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration
Perform other duties as directed by the school administration

Substitute Paraprofessional/Personal Care Assistant

Mohawk Area School District is seeking dedicated and compassionate Substitute Paraprofessionals/Personal Care Assistants to join our team. As a Substitute Paraprofessional/Personal Care Assistant, you will play an important role in providing our students with the academic, behavioral, and daily living support they need. Under the supervision of a lead teacher, you will implement directed academic and behavioral plans through individualized attention inside the classroom or in small groups. You will also assist the teacher in a variety of classroom needs, as well as helping students with daily living skills needed for participation in school.

Paraprofessional Duties and Responsibilities

Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials.
Monitor student work and supervise curriculum-based testing.
Review material with students one-on-one or in small groups.
Ensure students follow school and class rules.
Supervise students in class, between classes, and during lunch and recess.
Other duties as assigned by Principal and Coordinator of Special Education.

Paraprofessional Requirements and Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent; degree in education preferred.
2+ years of experience as a paraprofessional, teaching assistant, or similar position.
Experience working with elementary-aged students.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Familiar with Google Suite.
Flexible schedule.

Substitute School Nurse

Mohawk Area School District is seeking experienced and qualified individuals for a position as a Substitute School Nurse. In this position, you will provide primary health and emergency care to students, promote wellness and serve as a resource for health concerns in the school setting. Our ideal candidate has prior experience in pediatric and/or community, a valid RN/LPN and the patience and calm demeanor required when providing medical services to school children.

Substitute School Nurse Duties and Responsibilities

Administers medications and treatments as ordered.
Provides care for student and staff illness and accidents.
Administers care based on individual health care plans and individual emergency care plans.
Serves as liaison between the home and the school regarding student health concerns.
Documents all encounters in the Electronic Health Record.
Follows communicable disease control procedures and informs administration and/or parents regarding school exclusion and readmission.

Substitute School Nurse Requirements and Qualifications

Hold current PA State license as a Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Current certification in CPR.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of current practices for common childhood illnesses and chronic diseases such as asthma management, diabetes, insulin pen and pumps, seizure management.
Ability to perform skilled nursing care such as catheterization, suctioning, gastrostomy tube feedings, insulin administration, insulin pump skills and nebulizer treatments.
Computer skills.
Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field is a plus.
