This project was started due to the lack of support from Logitech® for users of its products under the Linux operating system.
A project named g810-led based on Libusb and written in C++ was started on GitHub by MatMoul. This project is a build on top of that project, the main difference is that this project is written in Java and was built from scratch to use a GUI and a service to provide the changing effect lights that are originally implemented by Logitech on their keyboards.
This work is done without any link to Logitech® or any support from them. It is made open to the public and free to use and modify. The whole reason behind this project is to find a convenient way to make use of the leds on Logitech® G Series keyboards under Linux. Hopefully someday in the not so far future, Logitech® will respect the wishes of its customers and provide their own software support for Linux users. But for the time being Linux users will have to make due with this software or any other software they prefer.
