At the heart of everything we do in Zhenghua is our commitment to preparing students holistically — beyond just academic grades. Our programmes are thoughtfully designed to provide learning experiences that develop both mind and character.
Our Applied Learning Programme (ALP) and Learning for Life Programme (LLP) are evident in both our curriculum and co-curricular opportunities, ensuring that learning extends beyond the classroom. Through ALP, we nurture problem solvers and innovators who use technology with purpose and empathy to improve lives, such as by designing inclusive solutions for people with different needs. Our LLP develops students’ character, resilience, and leadership through outdoor learning, where they grow by overcoming challenges in hikes, camps, and teamwork activities.
Complementing these is the ZSS Ziesta, our signature programme that provides authentic and progressive learning experiences aligned to our school vision — developing students into Dynamic Learners, Exemplary Leaders, and Thoughtful Contributors.
Together, these programmes form part of "The Zhenghua Experience", ensuring our students grow not only in academic knowledge, but also competencies that will enable them to thrive in life and beyond school.

In Zhenghua Secondary School, ZSS Ziesta is a unique programme that our students participate in twice every year. It offers students the opportunity to take part in a wide range of enriching activities and authentic learning experiences. Designed to nurture our students into Dynamic Learners, Exemplary Leaders, and Thoughtful Contributors, Ziesta provides a progressive and purposeful journey from Secondary 1 to 4, forming up part of the "Zhenghua Experience" that we want all students to have.
Each level focuses on one core aspect of our school vision. At Secondary 1, students build the foundation of being Dynamic Learners through exploratory and curiosity-driven experiences. At Secondary 2, they develop the qualities of becoming Thoughtful Contributors, where students engage in service learning and community-based projects. Moving into Secondary 3, the emphasis shifts towards becoming Exemplary Leaders by taking on leadership and collaborative roles.
By the time they reach Secondary 4, students embody all three attributes of our school vision. The programme culminates in industry-related experiences that prepare them for post-secondary education and future pathways, empowering them to step confidently into the world beyond school.
ZSS Ziesta reflects Zhenghua’s belief in holistic education—where every student’s journey is one of growth, reflection, and meaningful contribution.
Secondary 1
The Heritage Experience, The Sustainability Experience, and The Cultural Experience.
With adaptive thinking, inventive thinking, and communication as core E21CC outcomes, students ventured into different parts of Singapore, viewing familiar places through fresh lenses. From the Singapore River to Marina Barrage, and from Chinatown to Joo Chiat and Geylang Serai, our students immersed themselves in activities that broadened their perspectives on Singapore’s history, culture, and global connections
Secondary 2
Goal Ball, Inclusivity and Sustainability Experiences
Learning about visual impairment, developing sensitivity and empathy to users who are visually impaired. They also learnt about sustainability practices in Singapore through visits to various places.
Secondary 3
Sec 3 Outdoor Expedition
Developing leadership, resilience, and teamwork through a student-led outdoor camp experience. Over nine weeks, students plan and manage a 4-day, 3-night expedition—from logistics to activity coordination—taking full ownership of the process for outdoor activities like trip planning, outdoor cooking and tent pitching.
Secondary 4
ECG Symposium
The Sec 4/5 students went through a 2-day programme to gain exposure to different industries they are interested in. The symposium encouraged students to reflect on their strengths, interests, and areas for improvement. It also allowed them to go through a mock interview and a sharing by different members of the school alumni who is at different stages of life.
