The school educates our pupils to be caring and responsible towards the environment. As our Learning-for-Life Programme, GEM@ZPS (Green Environment Movement) aims to instill the values of responsibility and care in our pupils through Environmental Education.
In recent years, the focus for environmental education is directed towards waste management, as we seek to promote and create a sustainable future for Singapore.
The school provides our pupils with purposeful opportunities for real-life application of learning. The pupils were given real-world scenarios and they collaborated to ideate and construct their prototypes based on a set of given criteria. We named this school-wide programme, “Thinknovate”.
This is our school’s Applied Learning Programme which aims to develop critical and inventive thinking in our pupils as well as promote the joy of learning.
Going beyond the curriculum, the school exposes pupils to basic drone programming to provide them with a basic understanding of how aerodynamics affect flight.
They had to programme the drones to perform stunts and even participated in the Singapore Amazing Flying Machines Competition organised by Science Centre!
To ensure that our pupils are future-ready, the school has embarked on Code for Fun Enrichment Programme since 2018.
This programme helps to increase primary school students’ exposure to computational thinking and coding. This is in line with the nation's effort to build an entire generation of workforce inculcated with basic coding and computational thinking skills.
